Word from the author:
"I want to thank all of those who have supported me and my writing, in the US, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere abroad. Writing has personally been a lifelong dream. I have learned many things on this journey. There are varying degress of success. Sadly, we live in a culture that defines us as individuals and citizens by that perceived success, usually by wealth, fame, or popularity. I do not believe that success or fame defines me, or anyone else for that matter, but rather our personal integrity and how we treat others outside of ourselves. That, to me, is a truer barometer of who we are as people. Being an honest, decent human being is success to me, not the outer trappings and exteriors of ourselves.
I do not believe that fame or money equals success. I do not have either in abundance. I am a simple, down-to-earth country girl at heart. Success, to me, is when someone is true to themselves, lives authentically, and strives to be who they are as unique individuals. It is self-defeating to strive to be like somebody else. Sadly, I have seen others strive to copy my writing and creative visions that I have worked so hard to perfect. They have immulated my writing, my personal form and style, and I must say it saddens me deeply that people have such lack of integrity in this business. We should all allow each person to be unique, respecting that uniqueness and the boundaries that come along with that, and be our own distinct individuals. Some say that when we immulate others that is the highest form of flattery. However, when it comes to the written word, that is considered copyright infringement.
Knowing who we are as individuals and growing that truth within us is success to me. Everything else is simply perception, with the intent of impressing others. I believe living your dreams with integrity equals success. When we take credit for someone else's hard work, or fail to give someone credit for their assistance, that is not integrity or being authentic, or even truly talented. At that point, we are using another persons craft, dreams, and hard work as stepping stones to our personal success at the infringement of someone elses rights. As far as success and fame, I believe many individuals get hung up on those things and in doing so, they lose their joy and happiness in this business.
What matters to me personally, as a writer and woman, is that I stay true to myself and that I have integrity in my work and personal relationship with others. In this business, there are many who steal other peoples ideas, artwork, style/method/or form to get ahead. I can honestly say that my writing, artwork, and style/form is individualized and my own. True success is when you are able to fly on your own, without somebody else's wings to help you soar! For all those who visit this site, I ask that you respect the content within. That entails not infringing on the copyright of my work. It is an authors greatest reward when individuals read our books. However, it is our worst nightmare when someone steals our work and takes credit for it themselves. The books on this website took years to write, create, and eventually publish. I ask that you visit this site and leave this site with integrity.
